As a frequent attendee of the Pocono Blues Festival throughout the years, I have always been drawn to the intimacy of the tent stage, where the performances seem to take on a magical quality thanks to the audience’s close proximity to the performers. Then in the early 2000’s my son began to take an interest in the blues, and he and I have attended every one since. That would be a great story unto itself, but it gets even better thanks to the introduction four years ago of the ‘VIP Experience’. Bringing new meaning to the term ‘close proximity to the performers', the VIP pass has given us backstage access to the stars, where we have had the honor of meeting and hanging with legends, old and young. For my son to have experienced this first-hand is something I am proud to have afforded him.

I thought I would pass this note along with my payment for this year’s VIP package – just to let you guys know about the irreplaceable memories my son and I have of the spectacular performances, and perhaps more importantly, the glimpse allowed us into the world of these artists in such an informal, unhurried, behind-the-scenes setting. While I could save a few bucks and pay regular admission, and maybe even get our picture taken with an artist or two throughout the weekend, to hear a living legend utter just a few words to you in conversation while we chow down together on some pulled pork and collard greens, well that’s something a photograph hanging on a wall can never convey. 

Please never discontinue the VIP Package – I am too spoiled to ever go back!

What a GREAT value!! - The VIP tickets at the Poconos Blues Fest provides my son and I with many great opportunities to meet and talk to the artists in a relaxed atmosphere as well as the liberties to take some great "up close" photos.  

Michael Cloeren and his staff have put together one of the best VIP packages that I've seen!!  This will be our third year in a row for the VIP tickets. The annual Festival DVD always lets me reflect back to many great memories as well as flaming the anticipation for next year's Festival.
